**We are thrilled with the response we have received so far for OBFCS 2025 and we encourage you to apply by the original Tuesday, May 20th deadline. However, out of courtesy for our applicants, we are extending the deadline to Monday, May 26th for those that need it. Please feel free to choose what is ideal for you.**

Compose, Perform & Hear Your Music Premiered​

​

Composers of all styles and musical backgrounds are welcome

​

• Project #1: Compose a New Work on the theme of "Living in Harmony with Nature: The Environment and Global Climate Change"

​​

• Project #2: Compose a New Work on any theme of your own choosing

​​

• Project #3: Submit several previously composed works for us to consider for performance in an OBFCS concert

​​

• Project #4: New Intercultural Composition for Shakuhachi

​

• Project #5: Intercultural Composition & Performance for Balinese Gamelan ("Pacific Rim Gamelan")

​

– Collaborate with guest artists-in-residence:

• Compose music for them

• Perform with them as a member of ACE

(Artists Collaborative Ensemble)

​

– Compose for and perform in the

Pacific Rim Gamelan

(No previous experience necessary)

​

– Give a presentation about your music

       to the entire symposium

 

– Participate in the Composers Film Festival:

Present your film music or films/videos you have created in the genres of film music, video game music, and other audio-visual genres

​

– Improvise as a member of the

OBFCS Improv Ensemble

​

Participate in a career development session

given by our guest artists moderated by Robert Kyr, OBFCS Director.​​
